I was thinking about getting a Slot-2 (Ez 3-in-1) but didn't want to pay for it. :P

Still hasn't arrived yet... means that I'll have to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday. :(

I can't wait! :D

You get to pirate games and run silly homebrew apps.

It's great, there's even a tracker available out there, really cool.

Here's what they say on the website.

CycloDS Evolution Features

  • Completely plug & play - no FlashMe, PassMe or PC software required

  • 100% compatibility, supports clean ROM's - works on any OS

  • RealTime Save function, allowing you to save and restore the state of gameplay at any time

  • Wii connectivity in games is supported

  • Full NDS download play support

  • Action Replay compatible cheat code engine, comes bundled with over 300 cheat codes for over 300 games!

  • Uses MicroSD card, both FAT16 and FAT32 supported

  • Supports the MicroSDHC specification, allowing for high capacity memory cards

  • Save type is automatically detected, no need for a save type database

  • Save directly to MicroSD rather than onboard flash

  • User friendly, easily skinnable interface. Both touch screen and button operation supported

  • Multi-lingual user interface

  • "Enhanced Mode" which provides powerful, unique features during game play. Enhanced features are activated through an in-game menu. Enhanced mode features include:
--- RealTime Save which allows you to save and restore the state of gameplay at any time
--- Adjust LCD brightness during game play (NDSLite only)
--- SlowMotion mode which can be used to slow down game play to make fast paced action sequences easier to master
--- Return to CycloDS Evolution Menu (aka soft reset)
              --- More features to come!

  • Excellent homebrew compatibility thanks to the DLDI auto-patcher

  • 2 megabytes of onboard flash memory which contains the CycloDS Evolution OS and will be utilised in the future to add exciting new features. A recovery mode is also included.

  • Autoboot mode which when activated will directly boot into the last ROM or homebrew application executed

  • Moonshell included to provide media playing functionality

  • PassMe function (boot from slot 2)

  • Supports rumble and memory expansions, without any special user interaction required

Basically the best FlashCard on the market for the DS.
(i.e. a flashcard is basically a file browser on your DS allowing you to do things you didn't think the hardware could handle.)

Like you're going to go dump rom images of your DS cartridges onto your computer. You need other tools for that. :V

But homebrew-wise there's some pretty cool stuff, ranging from irc clients to ports of visual novels, trackers and drawing applications and more, as well as countless emulators for most consoles including NES, SNES, MegaDrive/Genesis, Gameboy, and apparently even Neo Geo, etc.

yes and no.  depending on your setup you MAY be able to.  If you get a cycloDS and want GBA homebrew and roms you need a slot-2 card too like an EZV 3-in-1

as far as emulation goes, i havent come across a single NES game it cant emulate (in fact, many games can use advanced features like savestates, and fast forward/rewind).  SNES depends on the game.  Obviously games like SMRPG and starfox are not going to emulate well with the DS's arm 9 and arm 7 processors and only 4 MB of ram.

also, good luck dumping your own game images without an EZV Mr.Mr.  It takes FOREVER to do it over wifi.

Tried DSOrganize 3.2, works but the web browser is broken.

Tried DSDoom, loads first menu but when I try single player is goes black screen.

Everything else I've tried works though.

Dsorganize's Web browser sucks anyway.  web browsing sucks in general on the DS.  I suggest DS hobro (it captures pages and turns them into images with links mapped to them on your computer and then streams them to your DS) if you must do web browsing.

[s:2bq9k61a]I'm not sure about DSDoom, but I'm kinda suspecting you need a slot-2 like with that quake2 port[/s:2bq9k61a]

Edit: perhaps you should just try searching
