I'm curretntly playing new games like NFS UnderCover, Call of Duty World at War and KSSU. Works great.
Is it any good?
Yeah, not bad. A HUGE improvement over the Most Wanted DS game, anyway.

If you're not using this and this to get all your NDS/GBA ROMs, you're not cool. At least, not in my book.

*whoosh*

That was my point, flying right over your head. Do I need to explain it to you, or would you like to click those links again and try to get it?

EDIT: On second thought, I'm going to do away with the subtlety and paint the complete picture. That way, Outrage has at least a chance of getting it.

In the real world, people can be roughly divided into a lower class, a middle class, and an upper class, depending on how wealthy they are. But the Wonderfully Weird Web is a society that operates on an entirely different set of rules. Thus your position in the social hierarchy is determined largely by what you do, and people can be roughly divided into a n00b class, a mundane class, a creative class, and an awesome class.

Maybe I'm egotistical, but I like to think that I'm part of the creative class. Whereas the mundane class will simply look at something and think, "Oh, that's cool", the creative class will recognize how much effort it took to produce a creative work. An SMWar map took a bit of editing and playtesting, a piece of pixel art took a lot of messing about with minute details, a good Flash cartoon took a pile of effort to make sure the characters looked and moved right, and an official Super Mario game took mountains of brainstorming, programming, graphics work, music composition, and localization, not to mention getting the people responsible for all of that to work together.

Because the members of the creative class can see all the effort it took to create something, we have no problems with fulfilling the wishes of our fellow creatives, provided those wishes are reasonable given the amount of effort put into the work. I found the wish of the POWDER developer to be very reasonable: he just wanted me to e-mail him. So I did. I think I made him very happy by doing that; he added a feature I wanted to POWDER Release 110.

The n00b class, on the other hand, is characterized by a distinct lack of appreciation for effort. Thus they tend to think things like:
  • forum/Myspace memberships are all one needs to form friendships
  • showing off someone else's work without crediting them is OK
  • all you need to create awesome games is a few minutes in Game Maker
  • fulfilling a request for money isn't necessary if there's a way around it
If you want to start climbing the social ladder, Outrage, you've got either purchasing or deleting to do. Since you're frugal, I recommend going the deletion route and then downloading POWDER. If you like it, hey, e-mail is free.

FYI, I actually enjoyed writing all that; it forced me to think about how the Internet social hierarchy works, and I got some interesting insights during my musings. I'm going to write a blog post about it soon.

The moderators around here would likely prefer that I get back on topic, rather than continue to speak of Internet social classes. I'd rather do both. :) So, perhaps we could talk about what homebrew NDS software would be useful to folks of the creative & awesome classes. Someone already mentioned NitroTracker for the musically-inclined, I think, but what about art programs, hm?

also, i dont think outrage realized that you were linking him to software, but rather another flashcard.  i think this is a misunderstanding more than it is outrage falling into a low internet social class.  the internet is what you use it for.

Art-wise, try UAPaint. For animations, try out Animanatee. Those are the two best drawing apps I've found so far, colors is pretty cool too. UAPaint is more for sprites really, rather similar to MS Paint.

Also, Mario Paint Composer, kinda like that one PC "port".

If you like reading visual novels, vnds. Really cool.
