Compiling SMW source code with Dev C++
« on: December 01, 2007, 11:52:13 AM »
Follow this tutorial, but don't do step 10, and 11. Instead add the SMW source. (add every file but leveleditor, linfunc, net, options, screenshot, worldeditor)

http://http://lazyfoo.net/SDL_tutorials/lesson01/windows/devcpp/index.php

Then goto http://http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_mixer/ and get SDL_mixer-devel-1.2.8-VC8 or any later versions.

Open it up.

Copy the contents of the include folder to C:Dev-Cppinclude

Copy the contents of the lib folder to C:Dev-Cpplib

Then goto http://http://www.libsdl.org/projects/SDL_image/ and get SDL_image-devel-1.2.6-VC8 or any later versions.

Open it up.

Copy the contents of the include folder to C:Dev-Cppinclude

Copy the contents of the lib folder to C:Dev-Cpplib

Now, we should still have dev C++ open from following lazy foo's tutorial. So we go back to Project->Project Options-> Parameters, inside the linker box we add -lSDL_Image -lSDL_Mixer

so it looks like this:
-lmingw32 -lSDLmain -lSDL -lSDL_Image -lSDL_Mixer

Then you should be able to compile it.

This is just for the people who want to change stuff like gravity :) Have fun.

Here is 1.7 src, I'm not going to give out 1.8 so don't ask. http://http://smwffh.supersanctuary.net/303smw_src_1.7.zip It's only the source and you are going to have to use your current smw files with the source, and its only 29k.

It is the basic backbone of every program.

Make a folder and name it from what your tilesets are.

And use the {img} BBCode tags enclose the URL of the picture you want to post (e.g. http://www.example.com/1.jpg) in the {img} tags.

About this, there's a lot of tutorials around there. Look for those.
