Contacting Programmers or Devs
« on: October 19, 2007, 07:28:09 PM »
It's become apparent that everyone thinks the number one way to contact the devs is through #supermariowar. This isn't the case as they never come on there anymore. The channel gets at least one person daily trying to reach the devs for Super Mario War only to find out they aren't there. They then try to seek help/advice/whatever from people in there only to realize the current people in there know SQUAT about it.

So, as a general reminder to all people who use IRC: Do not use the channel to try and have idle chat or something with the devs. You'll find that the devs there are more or less, elsewhere and you'll only fail in trying to talk to someone who's actually ever opened a C++ file.

I'm sure emails and this very forum will help good enough. If the devs and programmers would like to post any public contact information here, please do so, so it'll reduce the amount of people trying to contact you left confused and bewildered.

Do you get some common questions that keep coming up?  Maybe you could collect some and post them and we can start a FAQ thread that you could refer people to.

Yeah quite a few were asking rather technical questions that I don't think an FAQ would help with.

We already have a FAQ in the SMWar forum... I can update it however it needs it.  A FAQ in here would be great too though, if someone wants to write one up.
