So I've taken up a new hobby
« on: October 06, 2007, 05:26:58 PM »
I'm an amateur photographer. In this topic, I will post stuff I take pictures with.
BTW, my current camera sucks, but I'm getting a new, better one either on Christmas or my birthday (January 13).

Nice! I like that picture. It does look quite dark, on the verge of greyscale, it seems.
And yeah, moved to Arts Board

...Cocaine?
Also, new pic:

It's my house's "piano room". I took it using a sepia-tone filter, and modified the hue and saturation and light curves a bit. Also, I resized it so now it's 1600x1200.
Tomorrow, I'm going to ride my bike to the forest preserve west of town, and take a bunch of pictures there. I've been there before; it's great for photographers, amateur or professional.

Ok... I've taken 10 pictures in the forest. They're all in JPEG image format, and each one has been resized to 1600x1200 size. Also, the pictures used to be a lot worse. But I fixed them in Windows Photo Gallery, so now they look nice.

The only one I like is the last one.

BMP, two elements make a picture, into a good picture.
Depth and lighting.
Find situations and angles which give you both. ;D

Take this picture for example...
http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x121 ... 5811_l.jpg

That picture is a good example of depth, though the lighting has no distinct source...

Here is an example of descent lighting...
http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x121 ... lGIAN1.jpg

And what you get when you put them both together...

A good picture...
http://s182.photobucket.com/albums/x121 ... 0_5733.jpg

[On second thought, that first picture did have descent lighting. xD]

I always thought it was one man and one woman makes a girl... (or boy).

Also:
@Nova: I wasn't exactly using the best camera on the market... I wasn't using any light filters either. By the end of January, I should be able to take better pictures, since I'm getting a professional camera and a ton of accessories.

@Everyone else: Comment on my pictures plox.
