Preferred Way to Post a Map in a Thread
« on: September 19, 2007, 08:08:13 PM »
Step 1: Open your map in the SMW level editor and press the "insert" key on your keyboard.  This will take 3 screenshots of your map and put them in smwmapsscreenshots

Step 2: Upload one of the screenshots to a free image host like http://http://www.fileden.com.  By uploading it, they will give you a url where your image is hosted.  Copy this URL.

Step 3: Upload your map to our map host http://http://smwffh.supersanctuary.net/.  More details about that here http://http://forum.72dpiarmy.com/viewtopic.php?t=1890.

Step 4: Post your map in a thread using the map image link from step 2 and the map download link from step 3.

You can use the image link inside img tags
Code: [Select]
[img]Image URL here[/img]
to show the picture which is the preferred way so that we don't have to click on tons of links and wade through those image hosting websites' crap.

For a nice touch, make the picure the link! use this example:
Code: [Select]
[url=SMWFFH link here][img]image direct link here[/img][/url]

Some people might get confused, so tell them to click the pic :wink:

If it's just one map, unzip it and then upload it.

SMWFFH is pretty anal about .zips. Don't even attempt to upload gfx packs there.

Mabye it is the size. I have tried several times to get my gfx pack in there, but to no avail. And yet, I do remember uploading map zips. Mabye it is that gfx group.

That file type is not allowed to be uploaded.
