ITT Religion
« on: September 16, 2007, 09:13:55 PM »
I would like to have a polite conversation about religion.
No flaming or degrading others religions.
Just discuss your religion, why you believe in it, and why you don't believe in others...

IE: If you are anti-semetic...
Don't say "JEW MUST DIE!"

Say... "I don't believe in judism because..."

Keep it polite.

If a moderator would delete any rude / flaming posts, please delete them.
If this topic gets out of hand, like it most likely will, please lock and maybe even delete it if you have to...

---

My beliefs.

I am agnostic.
I believe there is a god, but I am not sure who he is, or what on earth he has quite done for me.
I'm not sure whether to accept christianity, buddhism, hinduism, judism or any other religions as mine...
I'm just sure there is a god, but I'm just not quite sure about what qualities he possesses.

What about you?

I'm christian, but not your average everyday "I go to church to make myself feel better" Christian. There is more to Christianity that just going through those motions. True Christians are to be continiously learning about God, and spreading this to others. I believe that there is something great starting to flow through all of America's churches, and my church is helping that out. Matthew 28:18-20 says "And Jesus came and spke unto the, saying, All power is given unto me in geaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto then end of the world. Amen."
This is our Great Comission, and not all churches are fufilling it, and it is underlined there. My church is sharing Biblical Disipleship, just as this verse tells us (where I underlined it).

Well, what about the ylem?  That could have been the cause.

Latitudinarian: Someone who is willing to accept other people's beliefs and behavio(u)r.

Basically I think there is a god out there but he might be a combination of other gods. Heaven and hell might be real but I think it just affects if you're bad or not. Not if you are gay are have 3 pairs of- *brick noise*

A couple things I always found odd is things like homosexuals can't go to heaven?

And I found this thing on youtube... About the christian religion.
One of the questions on the video is "The bible speaks that jesus could heal all injuries with miracles" or something close to that... And they left all sorts of examples, lameness, blindness, muteness, leprosy...
But what if you are missing a limb?
Christians always rejoice when a friend is retrieved from a near death status...
Because of a miracle of god.
But what about those who have lost a part of their body?
Where is their miracle?
Does he just turn a blind eye?

I always thought that was a good question.
One of the points that brought me from 'gods walk' to the walk of the undecided.
