I just remembered something.

One thing that BUGS THE HELL OUT OF ME about phpbb is that if your session crashes or you close the window or something like that, and you log in again, then it doesn't show all the posts you missed as unread anymore.

Would it be possible to, when showing which posts are unread, to save that info somewhere so that you can come back to your unread posts later?

That is possible. I think it is in IPB boards. I'm not sure if it is in the newest version of PHPBB though.

@supersonicfan5: don't know, sorry.

@jared: i already do that. my system for "what are my unread topics" is pretty sophisticated, don't worry.

This could (WILL :D)  be a great thing and maybe it could be the next phpbb (without the bugs!)

OK, hold it.  You're doing AJAX topic updates?  Crap, that's way too cool.  I really want to play with this thing now.  Is there any chance of an opening in development or design, or even anything?  I've spent the last week on this little Rails project of mine, and I think I'm ready for something serious.
