NUTÔ!!! My stuff!
« on: December 09, 2013, 05:46:30 PM »
Hello for the ones who are still alive here.

Since the 1.7 era i've been visiting this forum, but i never got the chance to show my stuff. However, better later than never.

Here it is to whoever is interested.

Skins
Catastrophe (Final Fantasy V)

108Specter_Catastrophe
A really creepy boss...
Actually quite simple to do, as it's original sprite from FFV was very easy to convert in a skin. Ironically, it's true palette, which is dark grey, only shows when under the effect of the Ztar...

Alter Ego (Danganronpa)

108Specter_AlterEgo
A friendly AI created by Chihiro Fujisaki, the Ultimate Programmer.
I'm very proud of this one, as i created this from the very base. Curiously, the hair was NOT the most difficult part. What got me in trouble was the walking animation, and i had to redo the body shape many times to reach the actual result.

Hiyoko Saionji (Danganronpa)

108Specter_Saionji
The Ultimate Dancer, who will gadly stomp anyone in a match.
My best skin yet.

Hanako-san (Yo-kai Watch)

108Specter_Hanako
One of my favorite Yo-kai, also known as Toiletta in the english versions.

Maps
Creepy Hall
Spoiler

My first map, created during the 1.7 era. Very simple in both gameplay and design.

108Specter_Creepy Hall

Snowy Pipe Organ
Spoiler

The only thing worth to note about this map is that it's based on a small area from the game Yume 2kki, the fanmade sequel of Yume Nikki.

Do Babies Dream of Motorbikes?
Spoiler

This one is more interesting. Greasiggy requested me a map inspired on his baby OC Edo, the son of a biker.

Specifically, the theme should be about a dream landscape. So i tried to be creative. The black outline is actually shaped like the head of said character, while the yellow portion of the map is meant to be his blanket. Since he is the son of a biker, naturally he is dreaming about a motorbike. Yes, one heck of weird motorbike, but hey, it's a dream, things don't need to make sense. Of course, the only playable part of the map is the dream itself, so players must be careful to avoid the slowly moving but crushing motorbike.

An Unbearable Monocrush
Spoiler

A map made for the Danganronpa characters. Lame puns aside, crushing the players is exactly what the diagonally moving hands in will do.

Take It Easy
Spoiler

As the name says, an easy map, based on Reimu Hakurei from the Touhou series.

108Specter_Take It Easy

Bar-Bar-Argh! Casino
Spoiler

A map full of gimmicks. Four different colored switches are spread across the casino. Hitting them will grant access to the Golden VIP Room, but it can be a harder task than it seems. Of course, you can always try to find the secret entrance...

108Specter_Bar-Bar-Argh! Casino

Frogger Pro Kun
Spoiler

This simple map is a reference to the Power Pro Series and the Frogger games, both from Konami.

108Specter_Frogger Pro Kun

A Funtastic Oddyssey
Spoiler

This bizarre map is a homage to the Parodius series. Be sure to avoid the falling meteors. The octopuses (ok, jellyfishes, but whatever) have written a mysterious message on the floor. Can you figure out it's meaning?

108Specter_A Funtastic Oddyssey

Marche Royale du Lion
Spoiler

A map named after the first movement of "The Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Saëns. It's layout is inspired by the lion statues placed at the entrance of some libraries.

108Specter_Marche Royale du Lion

Oblivion Ridge
Spoiler

"These cliffs were once the site of the local harvest celebration. Now, the fruitful land is withered and barren, and the sounds of laughter have long since died away."
— Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

108Specter_Oblivion Ridge

I hope you guys enjoy it! Slowly but surely i will do more. But emphasis on slowly....

And a new skin has been created.

Peacock

This is actually a comission for Greasiggy AKA Hinatediz. Actually, he helped me creating the walking animation, so cheers for him.

Every sprite was based on the actual animations for the character in Skullgirls. Better played on the Red team.

Wow, Fujisaki's coloring is excellent! And her (ahem) jumping pose is adorable. Nice job!

Thanks! I'm still wondering if i should keep this blue palette for the hair or use the green one, which would result in a lighter and more fitting(?) color.

I guess the green would mean she'd have brown hair on every team, which could be a plus or a minus depending on whether you like the consistency or the variety. I will say it's a lot easier to recognize her with the brown hair.

Humm, i get it. Maybe i should create an alternate version, with the actual one being the Team Colored Version...

Ahaha, Saionji's crash pose is great. (That's... what I call the pose for non-stomped deaths. Maybe that's not common parlance anymore?) Good job!

I've based her defeated pose on her original crying bratty sprite. Well, you can always count with TV Tropes to call this kind of death as Death Throw.

Thanks for the comment!

I am quite liking the pipe organ and the dream map! However, I would like to ask what tileset you used for the top of the organ as it does not draw the tiles on vanilla smwar 1.8 b2?

The other things are pretty neat too :3

Thanks for the compliments!

The tileset used for the top of the organ pipes is one named SMB3 pt 3, which i think it was one of the tilesets coming with Super Mario Land IV (a huge mod of sorts with really difficult maps)
