Super Mario War: Stomp Arena pre-Alpha 3

Happy 4th of July everyone! We have a new update for you guys, with a redesigned editor!

EDIT: An error was found with animated tiles. For those who have already downloaded pre-Alpha 3, you can get the patch here: http://smw.supersanctuary.net/SMWSA/pre3Patch.zip
All you have to do is copy and paste the .jar file into your /lib folder.

More detailed changes should be in releasenotes.txt. Some other notable fixes and features include:


- Partial 1.8 Map support. Not everything has be ported over, and the save file format has not been fully decoded yet. If you import 1.8 maps, they may need some work to get them working properly.
- Variable sized maps. Now, you can pick any size between the current map resolution and SMW 1.8's map size. You'll have to make a new map to do so, though.
- Decreased lag in the editor for those users who experienced lag in previous versions.
- Fixed TileFX lag in the editor.

How do the tags in the level editor work? Is that for future map browsing purposes?

Yeah.  They will be filters for the in-game menu, as well as (hopefully) the SMWStuff site.

On a side note, we were able to fix about 80% of the reported bugs in the Pre-Alpha 2 thread.

Yeah something similar happened to me with the tanooki suit. When I used it I fell through all the solid blocks and died.

Actually, I think that may be a separate issue. Either way, we're still working on collision. I already took a step toward fixing the other issue, but I'm pretty sure it won't entirely fix the issue.

Thanks for the video! I have a feeling as to what is causing that. It'll hopefully be fixed by the next update.

I will try it again and see if it works.
Are there any special conditions on those?

EDIT: Still doesn't work.

It seems that Animated tiles will only go in the  top left quarter of the map. I'll work on this right now and get a patch out for it.

I don't understand,I downloaded it but it just has a bunch of jar files. What is this supposed to be? Are you supposed to be able to play it or is it something for develepors? 0.o

It opens with java.
