Megaman War
« on: August 12, 2010, 01:54:34 PM »
I like SMWwar, I also like Megaman 72. (that's a good enough intro)

I'm thinking about a combination of the two... Megaman War.

things i've thought up thus far..

-everyone starts out with the regular buster, but when you charge up and fire you get a attack specific to that character (i.e. Cutman throws his sissor-thing, while megaman has his charged buster laser)
-I'd like to have as many boss characters that show up in the series as possible.
-No jumpy-jump on enemy to kill, just lasers (this is why i didn't put this in the mod section of SMWwar)
-has a story with unlockable characters (the megaman 72 bosses if it can be helped)
-custom sprites being made much like SMWwar does with the option of creating your own specific special attack for the character
-doors acting like SMWar's pipes

This is just a brainstorming phase, I might not try for this...
Please put in your input, I'd appreciate it.

There was a Mega Man War back in the days of 1.6 that never got finished. It was just a gfx/sound/music pack, though. If someone knew how to do the coding, I'd be more than happy to dig up the old remnants of the first project, pull together some resources, and help you put it together. Personally, I'd prefer it being in 8-bit, since 16-bit would be a huge pain. You'd have to custom-sprite MM4-9-10's tilesets, and trust me, it's VERY time-consuming. I lost my old computer before I finished spriting a 16-bit MM4 tileset, if that tells you anything.

i think that he is not talking about a megaman-styled SMW-mod, but about a game that kinda is like smw, but has a megaman-type of engine =)

Correct, General Guy!

I wanna see what ideas 72 had as far as possible "arenas", charge attacks for the boss characters that may or may not be in the game...

eventually i would like custom sprites being made much like SMWwar does with the option of creating your own special attack... o_o better put that in the first post :D

also I need to make some faux-screenies so yall could see exactly what had in mind

Try to not leave so much empty space that isn't needed in the skin, like the white, and the bottom area where there is pink under megafags feet.
