Movie series question
« on: January 26, 2010, 03:34:09 PM »
I was talking with friends late last night, and for some reason we started debating the greatest movie series. I was just curious as to what you guys thought about it. Looking at more modern movies, we were debating between the Godfather, the Matrix, and Lord of the Rings. Of course, that's just the most recent ones. When looking back on recent movie history (and even earlier movie history), what do you think people will see as the greatest series?

We all know Twilight will win, even though personally we all think it sucks. Although, there are MANY fangirls that love Twilight to death.

It's not easy to tell, but for me it's probably Star Wars.

I don't think many of those fangirls will look back on that with fond memories after they get married IRL.

Yeah cause everyone loved those prequels, didn't they?

It will probably stand the test of time, but it won't be the first movie that comes to most people's minds.

And while I haven't seen it Lord of the Rings sounds like a pretty safe bet.

Do yourself a favor and watch LOTR, they're excellent movies.

I feel like people look at episodes 1-3 as something separate from the rest of the series. I feel like part of the reason why I hate the first three so much is cuz Anakin's actor is piss poor. I hate him with a burning passion...

The original star wars trilogy was pretty okay.

Indiana Jones usually doesn't disappoint either.

Well in retrospect of the three you first mention I sorta fell asleep with Lord of the Rings, and I personally only liked the FIRST matrix, so I'd have to say the Godfather.

However if I had to choose a series of movies for my own, I'd have to stick with Ultra and Dude and say Back to the Future.

The 2 Kill Bill movies and those 2 Batman Movies made by Burton are awesome, too
