Passage
« on: June 15, 2009, 08:20:19 PM »
Wow, just WOW, this game is Amazing!  I can't describe it properly, it's just too amazing

Quote
Passage is tiny. The Windows installer is less than 500KB (though the Mac and Linux versions are a bit larger), and the game screen is 100x16 pixels. That's it. And yet, this game did something to me that NO game, EVER, has been able to do:

It made me so happy I actually started crying.

There's not much else I want to say, because over-analyzing this little gem would be shamelessly pretentious of me, plus I don't want to ruin the experience for you. Just download this game and play it; there's a five-minute timer, so you won't be wasting your time. When you're done, read Rohrer's statement, and tell me if it affected you as much as it affected me.

I think you owe it to yourselves.

Don't let the bad graphics discourage you from playing this awesome game, when you play it through you will see what I mean. (Please Don't Give away the meaning, If you MUST speak of it,the end, or meaning use spoiler tags.)

All right, as the review states, you have 5 minutes, you're not forced to do anything, you can go up, down, left, or right (except at the begining) you can grab chests as you go along, or get a wife, it's all up to you. The ending, will shock you. (it's NOT a screamer)

Extremely saddening but I think it also downplays it a lot, tells many stories though
worth playing, anyways

719 i think....
[spoilers:32za0z7l]That was really intense though....
When my girl died, I stopped going.... I felt bad leaving her behind....
that game was really intense..........
emotionally....
at first I had no idea what was going on, or the point...
after I realized there was no point, I understood
after a while I realized I'm going through the exact same as these people,
at first my whole life is ahead of me, and theres no reason to look to my past
but after a while searching got boring and all I wanted were numbers
A few of those backgrounds I didn't really like, and I can't say for certian that was the place I wold have prefered dying
but I wanted to stick by the girl cuz I wanted to show my gratitude for whatever partnership she offered
It made me kind of scared though, despite how simple the game was....
I got pretty scared[/spoilers:32za0z7l]
I want the wisest things to happen
If you like stuff. That stuff will always exsist.... IN YOUR MIND! OH SHNAP! UNLESS U FORGETZ IT! OR SHNAP! maybe...

You, Know after that, most people Did what you did.
[spoilers:4kgucu8z]And Also note how it is blurry in the front to represent an uncertain future and during the end it's blurring in the back, to represent losing memories. And that you start out at the right of the screen and end up at the left, obvious symbolism for starting life and ending it[/spoilers:4kgucu8z]

eeliot wins the thread!

I didn't really get the game until I read all your spoiler tags, unfortunely, the game emotionally did nothing for me, although I kinda figured this game would be about life about half-way through when I noticed your guy starts to bald, plus I didn't know you could up or down.
