PS2 (http://http://72dpiarmy.supersanctuary.net/viewtopic.php?t=28)
This is a list of platforms SMW ever was ported to. If the port is a link you're lucky - you can download a current version. If not I've lost track of the port and I'd be more than happy to find it again.
Maps and Skins archives
http://supermariowar.com (http://supermariowar.com) - Currently this site is down.
has a nice archive of smw addons (~100 skins, ~50 maps) and you can upload your own. Howevere we're (the smw developers) are in no way affiliated with supermariowar.com
JM add-in:
http://smwstuff.supersanctuary.net/ (http://smwstuff.supersanctuary.net/) - The most current place to find Maps and Skins.

How would you play this game on dreamcast? Would you just download the program and put it on a DVD-R?(Sorry for being a major noob!)
-
Yeah i think so.
Off-Topic: yay! a KH fan! i'm playing KH II

CD-R you mean. DC is not compatable with DVDs.
-
Someone who has a Mac G3, G4, G5, or non-Intel Mac Laptop, needs to install Linux and compile it for Linux-PPC.
Then we can most likely have it running on PS3 and X-Box 360 ;)
If anyone can point me in the direction of a Live Linux (PPC) CD or DVD to download, thats set up with all the tools and libraries needed to compile already, I'll be able to post a Linux-PPC SMW some time in February, when I go back to college, and use the Dual G5's.
Edit: Just thought I'd point out that the X-Box link is dead, and that you should be able to run SMW on X-Box via Linux with the normal Linux build.

The X-Box version seems to be down atm, can someone host version 1.7 (or 1.6) on rapid share or another site?

Its not down, you have to get it at the usual places
-
Actually, I did have the wrong link there. It's fixed now.
-
It is down.
xbins.org just has a link to smwstuff.com homepage which just has a banner on it, and thats all.
aMule has 1.7 beta something, it wont download, and torrents.
I dont know what the torrent sites has, it's not labelleb, but the date submitted looks like it's 1.6, with 1 peer and 0 seeds, with 32kb downloaded, and no more coming at all, and the peer only has 5.7%
This is the file list, so I assume all I need is the default.xbe for version 1.7 to go with the pc content files of 1.7?
http://vs.drakkan.net/files.PNG (http://vs.drakkan.net/files.PNG)
Someone needs to send it to me so I can host it on my server drakkan.net
In fact, if someone can upload the whole 1.7 package for Xbox (or just the needed XBE (any others?) file) with http://vs.drakkan.net/upload.php (http://vs.drakkan.net/upload.php) we can have a high speed high bandwidth mirror.
-
.xbe's are illegal for the most part
Tut on how to use xbins (http://http://www.copying-xbox-games.com/tutorials.php?tutorialid=00000036)

Aww, the DS version is outdated. :(
Note: it's version 1.0.something, not 1.6.

You have to get a special card from a online site and it gives you a cord or something to download off your computer.

-
I was thinking about the Wii and no you can't use any sort of emulator or anything like that. Although it DOES have the internet channel. Is there anyway someone can make it browser only with no dls needed?
-
i just thought about a wii version. it would be cool to download it via the internet channel and to play it like a game from the shop channel

It'd be nice, wouldn't it? Unfortunately in order for that to happen, Nintendo would have to sanction the whole thing. :P
-
i know... and then super mario war would become commercial...what a nightmare
-
Did anyone suggest Playstation 2 or 3?
-
hmm well if playing it on the wii it would need to go on a CD and if you put it up on a wedsite how would you play it??? :? the controls would be different
-
a cd is not neccesary to play it. (like the games you can douwnload from the wii shop channel. and that the controls would be different liek the pc version is normal^^

-
Couldn't you get the classic controller that lets you play NES games on the WII?

-
For people who use XBox
<Munchies> so yes...if any other newbie asks now it has been tested
<Munchies> the maps are pretty universal
<Munchies> custom pc made mades are 100% playable on xbox
-
How do you get on a Psp? a USB Cable putting into a games folder?
-
to get it on a psp you first must eaither have firmware 1.50 or a custom firware on it, then if its 1.50 you put the SMW and SMW% folders in the (letter whatever removable disk drive its connected to)PSPGAME folder, its the same for a custom firmware except they go in the GAME150 folder, all mods, additions, etc. would be placed as normal in pc version(at lest i think so) and then yu can just start up your psp go to the ms folder under games and run it, it crashes alot for me but i think its cause of my recent messing aound with it, i bet it will work fine once i reinstall my firmware

-
i just thought would say that i have had a lot of experience with xbox's, and that i will be able to help anyone with questions about the xbox port :) i wont however tell you how to get it. remember that google is your best friend.

Now, is it considered a bump if it's stickied?
Anyway, is it/will it EVER be possible to get SMW onto an iPod?

No it;s not considered a bump, and maybe SMWar will get onto an iPod if some developer gets bored and decides to make it work.

I can't wait. I have an iPod, and I need to find some way to put more stuff on my iPod (I don't have a credit card, so no iTunes, and I don't trust Limewire), so it'd be cool to have SMWar on my iPod.
-
nice one man >:D
-
Alright, stupid question. Let's say I find the Xbox port of SMW. How will I be able to put it on the Xbox? CD-R?
-
Umm... Can someone tell me how I can get it onto a Nintendo DS? :|
I dont know how....

I believe you download the file, open it up, plug in the DS via usb connector thingy and play

Oh... Ok. Thanks Shadoezs! :D That helped a lot.
But..... What kind of cord do I need exactly??
-

You can get one with an action replay I think.
Oh and where is 1.8 for DS?

Uh, the person who did the DS port might get to it if he wants to.

To answer the people asking about how to get it on a DS, you need a flash cart, such as an M3, or R4 card, goole around for them. Basically its a DS card which has a slot for a microSD card, which you can load media and games. And, an updated port for the DS would be nice... a computer controlled player would be greatly appreciated :D

*spoilered for bad things*
[spoilers:3qtpvepc]torrents my good man, torrents. They allow you to get the songs a lot like you would limewire, but as soon as you remove the file from the downloader you are free from tracking, and there are normally less viruses with torrents.[/spoilers:3qtpvepc]

I'm Gonna try downloading it via my sD card.
-
Little question: The first post lists a DS port of Super Mario War 1.6, but links to a port of the 1.1 version. Is 1.6 really ported to DS?
-
The DS port isn't actually 1.6, but I'm not sure what version it actually is. I've been told by Tanuki, who tried it out himself, that it wasn't done very well at all. He said something along the lines of it being like a broken preversion of 1.1.
-
Oh. Well, okay. Thanks for clearing that up.
-
They have Made SMWar Port to Wii!
Right now
It is 1.1 Ported
and guess what version is SMWar?
1.7 April Fools Edition!
i tried it, it works pretty good
-
Well, now I'm getting to where I'm interested in SMW for the PSP, but the latest version I can find is 1.7. Is there anyone who is/has/will make a 1.8 SMW for PSP? It's kinda hard to be unable to download anyone's maps because my version's outdated (and SMW is slow on my PC)

We need 1.8 for DS as well. =P
With mod support.
-
I can port and compile SMW 1.8 to PSP, but I'm not very good at doing anything beyond that (make it run 100%, make it scale to 480x272, other heavy modifications it would need) so I'd need help with that. The DS would be rediculous to port due to its insanely horrible specs, sorry.
-
Yeah! Super Mario War Rulez! :P
-
i have questions about the psp version. it said it comes with a level editor...but i don't see it. is the level editor for the psp? or do i download it (version 1.7), make levels, then move them on the memory stick?
how customizable is the psp version? can i download fan-made levels from somewhere, and use them on psp? (of course version 1.7)
